Warne appointed Rajasthan Royals mentor ahead of IPL 2018
Shane Waene has been
appointed the mentor of Rajasthan Royals
ahead of the 11th Edition of Indian Premier League , the franchise
confirmed on Tuesday Feb 13. The legendary legspinner captained Royals from
2008 to 2011 and led them to the tile win in the inaugural edition .
Shane Warner Says :
“I am very
happy and excited to be back with the Rajasthan Royals who I believe hold a
very special place in my cricketing journey”. Warne said about the appointment.
“I am overwhelmed by the love and affection showered on me by the franchise and fans of Rajasthan
Royals.” Said the man with a golden arm.
“ We have a strong young and energetic bunch of boys
and I am looking forward to work with them.”
Royaks also brought Mumbai batsman Zubin Barucha
back into their fold. Barucha, who was part of the Royals think-tank during
2008, has been appointed the franchise’s head of cricket
Bharucha stressed they’ll be looking to groom some
young talent with Warne. “We have always looked to groom talent at Rajasthan
Royals and it will be no different this time,” he pointed out .
Royaks will be back for the 11th edition
after serving a two-year ban following the spot-fixing fiasco in 2013. In 2015,
the franchise was banned after the Lodha Panel inquiry .
